I was under the impression that the use of the sigil has a 
sympathetic link with the spirit as is the decoded name of the 
spirit. Henceforth being the only connection the magician has with 
the spirit before he travels with the mental body to meet the spirit 
in it's respective sphere. Otherwise it would seem as if it would be 
a hit and miss exercise of trying to find a specific spirit within 
the vastness of a planetary sphere that has innumerable spirits 
living within it.
